Another Eagle Scout in the Bowlsby Family

There is another Eagle Scout in the Bowlsby family. Adam Bowlsby [pictured above at his Eagle Court of Honor], is 17. He earned 26 merit badges and is the 43rd Eagle Scout from Troop 419 based in Tigard, Oregon. He currently holds the Troop position of Junior Assistant Scout Master. Adam is one of 11 boys reaching the rank of Eagle this year for Troop 419.
Adam's eagle project consisted of pressure washing, sanding and refinishing 18 wood benches around the Tualatin Commons area. In addition, the City of Tualatin had antique iron work that Adam rebuilt with a Brazilian hard wood and installed on the bank of the pond in the commons area. The project was carried out on three separate days and utilized over 200 man hours.
You may have read about this bench as it was not there 48 hours before someone broke it up and threw it into the lake. Adam and this incident was written up in the local paper as well as the Oregonian and he was on television. It was too bad as the bench should have lasted 50 years and it didn't last 50 hours. He was disappointed but he has put it behind him.
